ATIPP General Awareness Course available online

The Access to Information and Protection of Privacy General Awareness Course is available online. The course aims at increasing awareness about access and privacy concepts and the roles and responsibilities of public bodies and their employees in protecting personal information.

This course provides an overview of the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act. This Act applies to the Government of the Northwest Territories, including all departments as well as all public bodies designated under the ATIPP Regulations. Upon completion of the course, employees will have a better understanding of:

  • the Act;
  • the obligations of employees within government, along with simple steps we can all take to protect the records we handle; and
  • the rights of individuals to access records held by the Government of Northwest Territories.

The course is free and takes approximately 2 hours to complete.
