North Slave Correctional Complex – Young Offender Unit

The North Slave Young Offender Unit is part of the North Slave Correctional Complex, managed by the Corrections Service. Located in Yellowknife, they provide custody and supervision for both male and female young offenders. Territorial offenders in open or secure custody are held here, as well as remanded offenders.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are not open to the general public. You must be a preapproved visitor to enter this facility. Special arrangements may be prearranged for alternate times. Please be advised that visitors will be asked to dress appropriately and follow facility rules. This includes being subject to search.

  • Secure Custody:
    • Thursday from 7:00p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    • Sunday from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • Open Custody:
    • Tuesday from 7:00p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    • Sunday from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
