Policy
Policy and Planning provides support and advice to the Minister of Justice, the Deputy Minister, and the Department through the coordination and preparation of various briefing materials.
This Division carries out research and analysis to provide information and advice on policy, legislation, communications, access to information, and planning. The Division is also responsible for records management, Access to Information and Protection of Privacy initiatives on a Departmental and GNWT-wide basis, and appointments to boards and committees. Policy and Planning also monitors changes in federal legislation, programs and services, and represents the NWT on various territorial and national working groups.
The Communications Advisor is part of the Policy and Planning Division and is available to help the public and the media with questions about the Department of Justice.
