The Corrections Service provides services for both adult and young offenders. These services are supervised by the Director of Corrections, and are undertaken by a staff of approximately 240 full time and casual employees in ten communities.
NEW: The Corrections Northern Recruitment Training Program is a training program for residents who want to be corrections officers in any of the NWT's correctional facilities.

Correction Exemplary Service Medal
The Corrections Exemplary Service Medal recognizes employees of the Canadian Correctional service who have had a minimum of twenty years of service and who have contributed to enhancing the profession. Quinn Groenheyde, Paul Pearce, and Gordon Oystrek are the newest recipients of this prestigious award.
